He has won 4 out of the last 5 tournaments he has entered. Only Tiger Woods has matched this. Could he win the Grand Slam i.e. all four majors in 2024 ??

Your thoughts ... Gordon I know you are a big golfer???

I'm not a big follower of golf. However, I have watched the ending of the final round of the Masters the past few years. He has a great chance to win the Grand Slam this year. Especially, since he is about to become a father! I also think Tiger Woods's best days have passed him by.

I WAS, at one time, now don't even care for it. That being said, he has the golf skills.

Winning the majors is more than that, mostly TIMING. Like in NFL, any given Sunday, any team can win, in golf one of the top contenders in the final round can get hot, or lucky (Larry Mize, chip in birdie to defeat Greg Norman at the MASTERS).

And The Open, is tough for those who aren't good travelers, and of course, weather plays a big factor. I will pick him to win the U.S. Open and be in contention at the PGA, but if he pulls off the slam...well, we'll build him a statue.

What do the sports books say? What are his odds? Also, most dads with newborn/babies, may not understand what that little monster can do for your rhythms...he, he.

I like his game, and his MENTAL golf is what is currently keeping him hot, he rarely makes a bonehead (Lefty) decision on the course.

Same here. But I was forced to give it up 20 years ago due to vision issues. I managed a 8 handicap at my peak but couldn't get much better than that.

It's weird though. I think iam in to watching golf more than I ever have before. Even when I was at my peak playing. One reason is my wife has turned into a huge golf nut/fan even though the only club she has ever picked up is the driver at Top Golf lol

She religiously follows all the players on the PGA tour. And don't even mention the LIV tour in her presence that is if you value your manhood

The whole golf thing is a little odd lately...

Scheffler has won something like 16 million this year.

Meanwhile, Tiger was paid $100 million just to play.

So, I think it's obvious who the real winner was

Yeah, it's a matter of Supply and Demand. Tiger simply earns more as he brings in more eyeballs than anyone else and ultimately more money.,Even though he has not won in years , his influence over golf and its millions of followers is immeasurable!!

        You're right about that.

The story I was reading today seemed to link the big payday to a bribe for not going to the LIV?

Here's the story I read for anyone interested:

What will become of golf? I don't care. However, today's sportsman/athlete is raking in the dough. Millions a year in guaranteed, for offensive tackles in NFL? Yeppers.

100 M, not such a big number theses days. Now they can afford to buy and not lease the Lambo's they race on highways and wreck, or the Porsche's they flip. And hire good team of lawyers to get them acquitted of._______ (even murder? nah).

As a one time sports enthusiast, I tune into very little. If they ever bring back Putt-Putt and offer up LIV type moolah, I'm coming out of retirement.

Until, then, just looking for ump/ref/official who is making peanuts...

And getting my sports high from lottery drawings.

P/S Wait. I may watch women's basketball, and women's golf. Until they too start being obnoxious. Also, actress Kathryn Newton has such a beautiful golf swing, too bad she makes so much acting, would love to see her compete in some tourneys.

It's certainly an impressive streak for any golfer to win 4 out of 5 tournaments, a feat that puts this player in rare company alongside Tiger Woods. The Grand Slam, winning all four majors in a single year, is the ultimate achievement in golf and is notoriously difficult to accomplish.

While this player's recent success is promising, winning the Grand Slam requires not only exceptional skill but also consistency and mental toughness across different courses, conditions, and competition. It's a tall order, even for the most talented players.

That said, golf is unpredictable, and anything can happen on any given day. If this player can maintain their current form, stay healthy, and handle the pressure of major championships, they certainly have a chance. But as any golfer knows, the game has a way of humbling even the best players. So, while the possibility is exciting to contemplate, I'll remain cautiously optimistic and eagerly watch how this player's journey unfolds throughout the year.
